DOES16 Live Video Chat Recap and Replay

DOES16 Video Chat

Earlier today, we hosted the first of several DevOps Enterprise Summit (DOES16) video chats with our founding partner Electric Cloud, as part of their Continuous Discussions podcast (#c9d9). Why? To give attendees a preview of what to expect in November, of course!

Today’s episode was led by Gene as he spoke with a handful of upcoming DOES16 speakers, including Pauly Comtois, VP of DevOps at Hearst Business Media; Damon Edwards, Co-founder and managing partner of DTO Solutions; Heather Mickman, Sr. Director Target Technology Services at Target; Michael Nygard, VP of Customer Solutions at Cognitect, Inc. and author of Release It!; and Anders Wallgren, CTO of Electric Cloud.

Gene led a lively Q&A session that covered a number of interesting topics, including updates from returning speakers and themes we can expect to see this November. We heard a lot of interesting takes on the role of middle management in DevOps; Conway’s Law and the reverse Conway maneuver; patterns the speakers have leveraged and/or recommend to overcome challenges; and, a list of inspirational books and bodies of knowledge for those who are looking to lead the DevOps charge in their organizations.

All roads led back to the power of the DevOps community and speakers pointed to the value of the DevOps Enterprise Summit where organizations can unite, openly talk about the challenges they’re experiencing and finding solutions from those who are one step ahead. All speakers generally agreed that while it’s fun to share and hear stories from the live stage, it’s ultimately the conversations had during the event itself that helps push the bounds of possibility for the DevOps community.
