The publishers

IT Revolution’s mission is to bridge the divide between the front lines of organizational digital transformation and the agents of change helping to deliver better value through software faster, safer, and happier.

At IT Revolution Publishing, we work together with industry thought leaders to expand the dynamic repository of knowledge available to the technology and business community.

At our DevOps Enterprise Summit, we bring the community face-to-face with innovative thinkers and practitioners in the midst of transformation.

And now, we’re thrilled to introduce a new opportunity that brings together the feeling of community of the DevOps Enterprise Summit and the breadth of learning available in the books we’ve published—the IT Revolution Book Club.

The book club

The first ever IT Revolution Book Club will feature the upcoming Team Topologies: Organizing Business and Technology Teams for Fast Flow, a practical, step-by-step, adaptive model for organizational design and team interaction based on four fundamental team types and three team interaction patterns.

IT Revolution and authors, Matthew Skelton and Manuel Pais, will be providing a guided two-week read-along with the book. Plus, you’ll receive an Amazon discount coupon to purchase the book when you sign up to join the book club.

Here’s how the book club will go:

  • We’ll all read a chapter a day, followed by discussions on a private Slack channel.
  • The authors will join you and your fellow book club members on that Slack channel to answer questions, expand on their writing, and offer additional guidance and learning.
  • They will also participate in special discussions that will be hosted only for book club members.

This is your chance to have direct access to these amazing teachers.

Monoliths vs Microservices is Missing the Point—Start with Team Cognitive Load
The “monoliths vs microservices” debate often focuses on technological aspects, ignoring strategy and team dynamics. Instead of technology, smart-thinking organizations are beginning with team cognitive load as the guiding principle for modern software. In this talk, we explain how and why, illustrated by real case studies.
