DOES16 Video Chat #2 Recap

DevOps Enterprise Summit San Francisco 2016

It’s hard to believe the 2016 DevOps Enterprise Summit (DOES16) is only one month away! We can’t wait to connect, teach and learn with our friends and colleagues in the vibrant DevOps community. Earlier this week, Gene hosted a video chat with our founding partner, Electric Cloud, as part of their Continuous Discussions podcast (#c9d9). This was the second in a series of video chats featuring DOES16 speakers. Together, everyone was able to have a thought-provoking conversation which included the divulgence of new details on what they will be presenting about at the conference this November.

Joining us was: Carmen DeArdo, technology director at Nationwide Insurance; Mark Imbriaco, Co-founder & CEO at Operable Inc.; Topo Pal, Director and Platform Engineering Fellow, Capital One; and, Stephen Mayner, SAFe® Senior Program Consultant for Scaled Agile, Inc. Gene asked everyone to share some of their recent experiences on their DevOps journeys, and how their companies have grown and changed since first embarking on the transformation. This led to deeper discussion of emerging trends and topics central to DevOps journeys.

Some of the topics covered were, transformational leadership, the impact and value of positive culture and collaboration, the importance of experimentation, and the best strategies for successfully implementing DevOps at large, complex organizations. Speakers also discussed patterns that can radically improve outcomes and peoples roles in the business value stream.

As the speakers shared their excitement around DOES16, they agreed that the conference offers top-notch learning and leaves attendees feeling energized about their DevOps journeys. We couldn’t agree more – the DevOps Enterprise Summit is one of the most unique platforms where DevOps community leaders from large, complex organizations can freely teach about their successes as well as their failures in an open and collaborative environment. We’d like to thank the excellent group of panelists who joined us and for providing their insight and experiences. We can’t wait to connect again in November!
