Introducing the next phase of publishing for IT Revolution!

At IT Revolution, we see our role as finding more ways to help bring DevOps theories, practices, and tools to the widest possible audience.

In the past year, we’ve worked hard on that in a variety of ways:

  • DevOps Enterprise Summit – The 2014 Summit sold out, so we have expanded it for 2015. The conference brings together the best practitioners from large, complex organizations, across all industries, to share their enterprise-level DevOps stories and transformations.
  • The State of DevOps Report – The third annual State of DevOps Report, conducted in collaboration with Puppet Labs, continues to provide the best information about the impact DevOps is having on organizational performance. The findings confirms that IT performance provides real business value, shows that inclusivity matters, and proves that one question can tell you everything about how a technology organization performs.
  • DevOps Enterprise Forum – In May, we hosted a small gathering of 50 leading thinkers and practitioners to address five problem areas identified at the 2014 DevOps Enterprise Summit. They continue to collaborate, and we will soon share the outcomes of their hard work.

But by far, the biggest impact we have had is with The Phoenix Project. The book has been read by practitioners all over the world, proving that books and stories have amazing power. This week, we reached over 1,000 reviews from readers like you. Customer metrics like that tell us we are going in the right direction.

The ongoing success of The Phoenix Project has enabled IT Revolution to expand our publishing program and acquire several new titles by well-respected IT thought leaders. With this new application of Lean methodology to technology organizations, we feel there are a number of topics that need to be addressed.

Leading the Transformation Our first effort is a book called Leading the Transformation: Applying Agile and DevOps Principles at Scale by Gary Gruver and Tommy Mouser.

Leading the Transformation is a primer for business executives, providing them a clear framework for improving development and delivery. Instead of the traditional Agile and DevOps approaches that focus on improving the effectiveness of teams, this book targets the coordination of work across teams in large organizations—an improvement that executives are uniquely positioned to make.
