Over the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting a few keynote speakers who have contributed tremendously to the DevOps Enterprise Summit over the last four years.
We’ve been honored to learn and grow with each of these individuals through their transformation journeys, and we’re excited to be welcoming them all back to DOES18 in London.
At the DevOps Enterprise Summit, we hear from a wide range of leaders in the community share about their experiences moving large enterprise companies, like those in the financial services, into agile environments.
If you’ve been a part of such a transformation in the past, you know it’s no easy task — which is what has made the ongoing journey at Barclays Group one of the most interesting transformations we’ve heard.
Barclays has been on an organizational-wide transformation since the beginning of 2015, and at the head of that transformation is Jonathan Smart, with over 20 years of experience.
Jonathan first shared Barclays’ journey with us at DOES16, sixteen months after they began their DevOps transformation in one of the most highly regulated industries.
In the video below, he discusses how the culture of innovation played a key role in Barclay’s ability to embrace agility in DevOps, as well as some of the big steps they took to go from a ‘fragile to agile’ environment, and the organization-wide effects of bringing ‘Holistic Agility’ to Barclay’s.
In 2017, Jonathan returned to both DOES London and San Francisco to update us on the progress seen at Barclays with his talk The Yin and Yang of Speed and Control. Jonathan shared some lessons learned by him and his team throughout their journey, which may act as a guide to anyone who may be facing similar difficulties in the early stages of their own transformations. He also shows us the steps they’ve taken to begin balancing speed and control in the organization throughout this time.
Now, in 2018 — Jonathan is joining us in London once again to continue the conversation about DevOps at Barclays.
Get Tickets to hear the next phase of Barclay’s DevOps transformation at DOES18 London.
Trusted by technology leaders worldwide. Since publishing The Phoenix Project in 2013, and launching DevOps Enterprise Summit in 2014, we’ve been assembling guidance from industry experts and top practitioners.
Nice one Jonathan! (Dave Anderson)
